2021 ACTIVITY REPORT

Fighting

for what counts

In 2021 L’Initiative upheld its commitments to support partner countries in their efforts against the HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria pandemics while helping them obtain funding dedicated to their Covid-19 response from the Global Fund. It also reasserted its support for catalytic projects, and, long-term projects that complement the Global Fund’s actions in the field.

2021 ACTIVITY REPORT
Wake up, our children are dying! Activists interrupt a session during the ICASA conference in 2019.
In 2021 L’Initiative upheld its commitments to support partner countries in their efforts against the HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria pandemics while helping them obtain funding dedicated to their Covid-19 response from the Global Fund. It also reasserted its support for structuring, catalytic projects, and, long-term projects that complement the Global Fund’s actions in the field.

There is a general aknowledgement of the historical commitment of L’Initiative alongside the Global Fund: it is a key actor of the “Team France”, mobilized to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal 3 “Good health and well-being”.

JÉRÉMIE PELLET

L’Initiative’s relevance and its efficiency in the field have been consistently highlighted by our partners and diplomatic network, especially the regional global health advisors.

Continue the fight against

pandemics

Despite the difficult context since 2020, our activity has seen no interruptions, except when imposed by local restrictions. Technical assistance and projects launched by L’Initiative reached a record high in 2021, while the organization repurposed activities to fight four pandemics.

Facing

Covid-19

Since 2020 our team has been mobilized to support our partners in the face of the new pandemic’s consequences. Our operational mechanisms were adapted first to guarantee technical assistance and ongoing projects’ continuity, and, as soon as 2021, to incorporate the Covid-19 response.
